Safety Coordinator for Boeing’s Palmdale, California aerospace facility, site of spacecraft construction during the Space Shuttle program.  Performed regular safety walks of the facility and coordinated with staff over safety issues.  Reviewed all of Boeing’s site safety procedures, with updating and revision as needed.  Worked with safety staff to prepare accident reports, coordinate on safety procedures, and advise on evaluation of present and new safety equipment.

PROJECTS:

CLEVERTECH NORTH AMERICA:  Safety specialist for Italian technology company installing robotic processing equipment at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Spokane, Washington.  Oversaw safety during installation at the center, including working at heights, electrical safety, concrete drilling, and noise protection.

AVALON CONTRACTING:  Safety Specialist for exterior cleaning on the Seattle Veteran’s Administration Hospital.

POLCOM:  CitizenM Hotel Project, Seattle, WA.  Safety officer for Westlake hotel project.  Responsible for daily safety inspections together with incident and accident investigations.

GLY CONSTRUCTION: Expedia Headquarters Project, Seattle. WA.  Presented majority of new worker orientation and safety training.  Daily inspections of site for fire extinguishers, walkway accessibility, PPE usage, and safety of overhead work.  Performed accident investigation and coordinated with supervisors and foremen on safety concerns.

Responsible for Syncrude and Fluor orientation training for Mildred Lake Mine Replacement (MLMR) project, as well as Risk Tolerance, Driving in the Mine, Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA)-certified Fall Protection and Confined Space courses. Interfaced extensively with safety staff from other major contractors on the MLMR project.

Responsible for orientation classes for all of CB&I’s new workers. Extensively rewrote and updated lecture and examination materials, incorporating images of scaffolding, fall protection equipment and other audiovisual aids into lectures. Familiar with filing and data retrieval system for busy teaching center. Interfaced extensively with safety staff from a number of major contractors. Certified for Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry/Monitor, and Elevated Work Platform.
